Nétive VMS: Pioneers in Talent Management

Nétive VMS started small, but quickly grew into a major company in workforce technology. Read the story of innovation and progress here.

In the summer of 2003, Chris Neddermeijer, Patrick Tiessen, and Leon Vet combined their expertise and laid the foundation for Nétive. The company name is a creative fusion of the initial letters of their last names, with an elegant emphasis on the ‘e’. What started as a modest beginning in the Berlage building grew into an incredible journey in the ensuing years.

Before 2003: The unmet need

The Ministry of VROM had an unmet need: an internal hiring desk with innovative software. For Nétive, this meant taking a leap into the unknown, from the Electronic Timesheet System to the very first Vendor Management System (VMS), a term not yet commonplace at that time.

2003-2009: From modest start to innovative leaps

With two office spaces in the Caballero Factory on the Binckhorst in The Hague, the foundations were laid for a flourishing company. VROM (The Dutch Ministry of Housing, Spatial Planning and the Environment) became our first valued customer. A dartboard was hung, and Nétive VMS evolved into a breeding ground where ideas and innovation converged in talent management.

Between 2004 and 2009, we outgrew our space on the Binckhorst. We found a new home on Burgemeestersrand in Delft. This period marked a time of significant changes. Twelve new colleagues signed their contracts, we welcomed new customers and in 2007, the digital dossier was introduced. The following year, in 2008, we took the strategic step into the cloud, with Salesforce becoming our reliable partner.

2010-2019: Economic challenges and international growth

Between 2010 and 2019, Nétive VMS faced economic challenges that led it to Yes! Delft. Despite the financial crisis, the company showed resilience and recovered quickly. A move to Patrijsweg 20 in Rijswijk followed, where the first international colleague from the United Kingdom was welcomed.

Nétive VMS was discovered by an increasing number of hiring programs, and the growth was undeniable. The Rockefeller Habits guided us towards sustainable growth. In 2013, the application surpassed 1.5 billion in customer hiring expenses. 2014 marked over 150 customers, and in 2015, we achieved VMS market leadership in the Netherlands. International customers arrived in 2016, and 2017 brought us the ISO 27001 certification.
