Last month, we were proud to take part in National Interview Month 2025, and what an incredible experience it was! This initiative, powered by YourGamePlan, saw thousands of students from over 100 state schools and colleges participate in mock interviews to help build their confidence and develop essential career skills.

Our very own Tina Hook reflected on the experience:
“It was inspiring to see how much thought and consideration the students I spoke to had put into their future careers and next steps. Their passion and determination were clear, and it was a privilege to share insights that might support them on their journey. Watching them grow more comfortable in conversation as the mock interview progressed made these sessions incredibly worthwhile. I wish them all success ahead!”
Making a real difference
We couldn’t be prouder to have played a part in boosting students’ confidence and preparing them for future job applications. It was fantastic to see students engage with the process, overcome nerves, and walk away with new insights.
The students overwhelmingly enjoyed their experiences with all of those who volunteered, and even the ones that were nervous before were very happy that they’d taken part.
Here’s some of what they had to say about the initiative in their own words:
“I thought that Julian was a very friendly person who I was able to be comfortable with and discuss what I wanted to do later in life and what I’m doing now. And I personally don’t think it could have been any better. :)” Harry
“I enjoyed how relaxed the process was and there was not any stress or pressure surrounding the situation. Elaine was very positive and provided me with an incredible insight into CVs and how to make one effective.” Leah
“The interview went very well, he said I came across as very confident and passionate.” Evelina
“I found the interview very productive and gave me a very good idea on what a real-life interview would be like. The interviewer was very nice and asked appropriate questions and made it a very comfortable environment for me and I didn’t feel as nervous as I thought I would. The interviewer double checked to have asked all the questions and made me happy on what an interview would feel like.” Ollie
“The interview went very well. I believed that it was very engaging and very beneficial for me and my future. My interviewer even gave me tips and things to look into for what I want to do in the future. He listened to what I had to say and I didn’t feel rushed to give an answer.” Harry
A real pleasure
It was fantastic to be involved in such a worthwhile initiative, especially one that resonates so strongly with our own purpose: “working together for a better labour market.” We know that time, guidance and encouragement at such an early stage can have a lasting impact on students, helping them to feel more prepared for their career journeys ahead.
We’re already looking forward to National Interview Month 2026!
