Accessibility statement
Introduction
Nétive VMS is committed to making the application accessible to everyone, including people with disabilities. To achieve this, we follow the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG 2.1, level A and AA), referenced in the European Accessibility Act (EAA) and the Dutch Digital Government Act (Wdo). These guidelines are based on four principles:
- Perceivable: You can clearly see and hear the information and components in our application.
- Operable: You can use and navigate the application easily, including with assistive tools.
- Understandable: You understand all information and controls in the application.
- Robust: You can access the content via different browsers and assistive tools, such as screen readers.
This statement explains how accessible Nétive VMS currently is and what steps we are taking to improve the application further.
Accessibility of Nétive VMS
Ambition and approach
We continuously work on the digital accessibility of Nétive VMS. Accessibility is not a one-off obligation for us, but an ongoing process that evolves alongside the development of our application. We aim to make Nétive VMS comply as fully as possible with the WCAG 2.1 guidelines (level AA).
Accessibility is a fixed part of our design and development process. For new features, it is incorporated from the design phase through to delivery. After release, we test accessibility both internally and externally. Internal tests are carried out by UX Designers and QA Engineers. External testing is done by an independent party, both for specific new components and through periodic audits of the full application. The outcomes form the basis for our improvement plans.
Accessibility status
In February 2026, Nétive VMS commissioned an independent technical accessibility audit of the application. The audit was conducted in accordance with the WCAG-EM methodology and assessed against WCAG 2.1 level AA. The research covered 25 representative pages and user flows within the application.
The research shows that the application already meets the standards on several points, but that there is room for improvement.
Known accessibility issues
The main areas of attention according to the February 2026 audit are:
-
Keyboard accessibility: Some interactive elements, such as buttons, dropdowns and tooltips, cannot be fully operated without a mouse.
-
Focus management: The focus indicator is not consistently visible throughout the application, and in some cases focus does not behave as expected within modals and menus.
-
Screen reader support: Certain elements are missing an accessible name or do not correctly communicate their status to assistive technologies. ARIA attributes are not applied consistently across all components.
-
Responsiveness: At high zoom levels or on smaller screens, some content and functionality is not yet fully accessible.
-
Contrast: A number of text elements, input fields and icons do not meet the minimum contrast requirements.
-
Forms and error handling: In some places, required fields are not clearly marked, and error messages do not provide sufficient explanation of how to resolve the error.
More detailed information about the outcomes of the accessibility audit is available on request.

Planned improvements and compliance
The findings from the audit have been translated into concrete action points and prioritised by impact. Keyboard accessibility and focus management are at the top, as these form the greatest barrier for users who rely on assistive technology.
The improvements are addressed within the regular development cycle of Nétive VMS. This means that changes are implemented in phases, with attention to both technical implementation and design. Progress is monitored internally and the accessibility of the application is periodically reassessed.
